Sandford, Daniel Jay of Flint, age 60, died Monday, December 25, 2023, at his home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Rossell Funeral Home. Visitation will be 12 noon until the time of the service at 2 p.m. Cremation will follow the funeral. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Daniel was born in Flint, Michigan on December 21, 1963, the son of Donald and Rita (Thomas) Sandford. Dan graduated from Flint Northern in 1982. In July of that year, he joined the Navy. Daniel operated a painting business for many years, where he was a mentor to many who followed in his footsteps. Dan loved listening to music and playing the guitar. He was a stranger to no one and loved everyone he met. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Dan is survived by his mother, Rita Sandford; sisters, Renee Sandford, Jennifer (Thomas) Windle; nieces, Brittany Webb, Nicole (CJ) LeBaron, Gabrielle Sandford; nephew, Brian (Jessica) Windle; great-nieces, Reagan Webb, Isabella Windle, Cassandra LeBaron; the love of his life, Denise Pate and her son, BJ Pate; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Sandford; maternal grandparents, Olga and John Thomas; paternal grandparents, Osmond Sandford and Dorothy Rodocker; cousins, Alan and Karl Paul, and Kirk Beauchamp. |
