Ida Mae Leslie was born October 2, 1932, in Fayetteville, Tennessee and passed away Saturday October 30, 2021. She was the daughter of Dallas Dyer and Sallie (Wilson) Dyer.
Ida graduated salutatorian from West End High School in 1950 and attended Tennessee A and M (Tennessee State) University. Ida married Hamp Leslie on August 30, 1952, and they moved to Flint in 1953. Over the years she worked as a real estate agent at Huggler (Century 21) and Home and Suburban (ERA). She spent 12 straight years as a caregiver for her brother, mother and husband, but was glad to do this because she loved them. She enjoyed playing the piano both as a hobby and for the congregation. She loved watching and shopping QVC. However, the things she cherished the most was serving Jehovah and being with her family (especially the grandkids). She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1957 and was a member of the Western Hills congregation. She had the privilege of assisting some to come into their own relationship with Jehovah. She enjoyed listening to the meetings on Zoom with the option of listening to the Western Hills, Mott Park or Grand Blanc congregation.
Ida is survived by her son Evan (Amelia) Leslie, grandchildren Michael (Cherilyn) Leslie, Derek Leslie all of Flint, MI and Adrienne Leslie of Grand Blanc, MI, brothers David Dyer of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Kenneth Dyer of Austin, Texas and several cousins.
Ida Leslie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Hamp and brother Joe Willie Dyer.
The Leslie family are especially thankful to all who befriended Ida over the years. Also her valued friends from the Fayetteville, Tennessee congregation. Her family would like to thank the Western Hills, Grand Blanc and Mott Park congregations and others for the phone calls, text messages, cards, gifts and kind expressions of condolence.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021, from 11:00am to 2pm at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Road, Grand Blanc, MI. Interment will be at Sunset Hills Cemetery Flint,MI.
