Thomas E. “Buck” Cameron, 69, of Davenport was received in the arms of the Lord and entered eternal life at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House on December 16, 2010 surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Monday, December 20, 2010 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 2-5PM Sunday, December 19, 2010 at the mortuary. Burial will be at Oakdale Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the family to be dispersed over several charities. Buck was born on June 28, 1941 in Morris, IL, the son of Thomas Henry and Ruth Virginia (Burmeister) Cameron. He was the eldest of seven children and always took care of his siblings. He was united in marriage to Sandra Ludin on April 11, 1960 in Rock Island. He worked at Sears Manufacturing for 31 years and retired on April 1, 2004.
He was a generous, hard working, loving and quiet man who gave of himself and took care of his family. He loved his family, Christmas, Country Western, travel, woodworking, riverboats, and socializing with friends but not necessarily in that order.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sandy; children; Thomas H. (Joleen) Cameron, NE, Brian W. (Lisa) Cameron, Moline, IL, Valerie K. (Doyle) Grubbs, Davenport and Christopher L. (Kim) Cameron, Rock Island, IL; one brother, Darron (Barb) Cameron, Davenport; three sisters, Ruthann (Ray) Barnhart, MO, Dawn (Ray) Seys, Montpelier, IA, and Marylou Cameron, Davenport; ten grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
