Maureen R. Booth
Age 72, of Brighton, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 10, 2026.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 17, 2026, at St. Paul Catholic Church, with Fr. Michael O’Brien officiating. Burial will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Home on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a rosary prayed at 7:00 p.m.
Maureen was born on March 19, 1954, in Owosso, Michigan, the daughter of Earl and Isabel (Coe) Reed.
She graduated from Owosso High School with the Class of 1972 and went on to earn her master’s degree from the University of Michigan.
Maureen had a deep love for travel and found joy in gardening, flowers, and caring for her yard. She was an active member of her Investment Club and enjoyed participating in “Using the Mind.” Above all, she cherished time spent with her friends and family.
On June 23, 1988, she married Thomas Booth in Owosso. Together, they shared over 37 loving years.
Maureen dedicated several years of her life to teaching, working in various locations from Alaska to Owosso, touching the lives of many students along the way.
She is lovingly survived by her husband, Thomas Booth; her siblings, Dennis (Lois) Reed, Virginia Furman, Martin (Rosalie) Reed, David (Mimi) Reed, Rosemary Reed, Kenneth (Penny) Reed, and Stephen (Elaine) Reed; and her in-laws, Edith (Billy) Brown, Suzy Carpenter, and Mari Jane King. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Patrick Reed and Mary Colette; her brothers-in-law, Fred Furman and Christopher Havlik; her sister-in-law, Ann Cook Reed; her nephew, Evan Reed; and her nieces, Evelyn Williams and Renee Reed.
Memorial contributions may be made to the VFW or The Shiawassee Community Foundation for the Evan Reed Scholarship or the David Reed Scholarship.
