JACOBS, Carol – Of Grand Blanc, age 87, died Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1pm Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road, Burton. Father Georges Bidzogo officiating.
Visitation 4-8pm Monday, June 30, 2025, at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Rosary will be prayed 7pm Monday evening at the funeral home. Visitation 12Noon Tuesday at church until the time of the Mass.
Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Carol was born in Flint, Michigan on December 24, 1937, to the late Lewis and Eleanor (Casey/Dillon) Hengesbaugh.
She was the youngest of eight children. On July 12, 1958, she married her high school sweetheart, Arthur Jacobs, in Flint.
Carol was a devoted wife, mother and friend. She loved long walks on the beach where her pockets would be full of treasured rocks and shells. Most of all she cherished time spent with family and friends. Over the years Carol worked for the parish rectory and local real estate offices. She was previously a Flint resident and a longtime member of Holy Redeemer Parish.
Carol leaves behind her husband, Art, and four children; Renee McGarry, Linda (Terry) Froeber, Kurt Jacobs and Kristin (Don) Brownell; grandchildren, Christopher (Janelle) McGarry, Kelly (Matthew) Burks, Eric (Brighde) Froeber, Hannah Froeber, Jacob Turner, Thomas Brownell and Andrew Brownell; three great-grandchildren, Natalie, Henry and Caralyn Burks; Sisters-in-law, Margaret Westervelt and Dorothy Hengesbaugh, along with many nieces and nephews, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Frank, Bernie, Clare and Ted Hengesbaugh; sisters, Eleanor Doerr, Jean Hengesbaugh IHM and Rita Henige along with granddaughter, Alannah Turner.
Memorials may be made in Carol's honor to the IHM Sisters c/o IHM Sisters Development Office, 610 West Elm Avenue, Monroe, Michigan 48162 or the Powers Catholic High School, G-2040 W. Carpenter Road, Flint, Michigan 48505.
