KOEPKE, Larry Palmer – of Davison, MI, age 84, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2025. Cremation has taken place. Inurnment, with Military Honors, in Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly, MI 48442. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County, in Larry’s memory.
Larry was born in Norfolk, VA on May 20, 1941, son of the late Lyle and Virginia (Palmer) Koepke. He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1959 to 1962, a time that shaped his deep sense of discipline, pride, and resilience. After his military service, Larry built a long and dedicated career as a car hauler, retiring in 1999. A true lover of life’s simple pleasures, Larry had a passion for music and a lifelong devotion to Detroit Tigers baseball. He was happiest surrounded by his family, sharing stories, meals, and laughter. A self-proclaimed foodie, Larry had an adventurous palate and an unmatched curiosity about the world. He was famously stubborn, fiercely intelligent — always ready with an answer, a fact, or a clever quip. Larry’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him and loved him.
Larry is survived by daughter, Katie (Jon) Eich; granddaughter, Eleanor; loving companion, Patty; 2 sisters, Taffy and Sherry; brother-in-law, Steve; many other loving family members and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Virginia Koepke; sister, Candy; 2 brothers, Craig and Henry and brother-in-law, Tim.
