Judith “Judy” Vivian Mayville, age 73, of Prescott, Michigan, formerly of National City and Flint, Michigan passed away Monday afternoon November 9, 2020 after a long battle with dementia under the loving care of her daughter and hospice at home.
Judy was born February 18, 1947 in Flint, Michigan to the late James and Margaret LeEssa (Delling) Gillespie. She graduated Flint Central High School in 1967 and married Richard L. Mayville, Jr. on July 29, 1967. Judy was a former member of Bible Baptist Church in Flint and a current member at Judson Baptist Church in Prescott. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and will be forever remembered for sweeping.
Judy is survived by her children, Richard (Christina) MayvilleIII of Clio, Michigan and Kimberly (Pastor Doug) Kennedy of Prescott, Michigan; daughter in law, Mellanee Mayville of Flint, Michigan; twelve grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Mayville, Jr; daughter, Kristen Renea; son Steven Mayville; brother, James Gillespie; and sister, Jackie Gillespie.
Visitation for Judy will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 13, 2020 at Judson Baptist Church, 201 East Harrison Street, Prescott, Michigan. Funeral ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. Friday morning at the church with Pastor Doug Kennedy officiating. Interment will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
