WEEDEN, James V. “Jim” – of Davison, age 83, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Hurley Medical Center. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Friday, January 9, 2026, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 706 W. Flint St., Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Todd Frusti officiating. Interment, with Military Honors under the auspices of the American Legion Post #267, will be in Meadowview Memorial Gardens following the service. The family will welcome visitors from 3-7 PM on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church Music Fund.
Jim was born in Flint, MI on December 4, 1942, son of the late Vernon and Dolores (Cooley) Weeden. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1960-1963. Jim married Sharron Patterson on February 28, 1960, and three children were born of that union. He then married Mary Paulsen on August 17, 1985, and she preceded him in death on October 13, 2025. He worked as an electrician for General Motors, retiring in 1997 after many years of service. Jim was a member of American Legion Post #267. He was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, serving as an elder. Jim was an avid hockey fan and found great joy in cheering for all Michigan teams. His greatest joy was found in time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Jim is survived by his loving children, Shelley (Don) Hatfield, Sharri (Don) Wirt, Shani (Jeff Lundy) Weeden, Christy Tafoya, Dan (Becky) (Panzenhagen) Weeden; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Madison, Hailey, Noah, Phoebe, Eli, Joey, John, Jimmie, Alexis, Adam, Sophia, and Danny; great-grandchildren, Wren and Addison; brother, Jerry (Terry) Weeden; and many other loving family members and friends. In addition to his parents and his wives, Jim was preceded in death by grandson, Christopher Allen Gruno and granddaughter, Chloe Wirt.
