Sidney Gerald “Jerry” Richards, Jr. of Flushing, Michigan, age 85, died surrounded by his family on Friday, October 1, 2021. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 4, 2021 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mount Morris. Fr. Roy Horning will officiate. Burial to follow at Flushing Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Monday at the church until the time of the service.
Jerry was born in Saint Johns, Michigan on January 12, 1936 to Sidney and Helen Richards. He married Marilyn Bundy at St. Michael Catholic Church in Flint, Michigan on January 12, 1957. She preceded him in death on August 14, 2020. Jerry retired from his career at AC Sparkplug and enjoyed woodworking and driving in his free time.
Jerry is survived by his children, Michael (Janet) Richards, Leslie (John) Cote, and Diane (David) Ellithorpe; grandchildren, John Richards, Jessica Richards, Julie Richards, Stephen (Heather) Cote, Michelle (Shane) Larkin, Samantha (Ben) Rupley, Donna (Aaron) Lewandowski, Holly Ellithorpe, and Rebecca Ellithorpe; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Hannah, John, and soon-to-be, Jackson; and his special dog, Paprika. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Marilyn Richards; and his parents. |
