Born September 3, 1974, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026 at LaVigne Home surrounded by her family. To honor her wishes, cremation has taken place. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family on Allen’s tribute wall at detroitcremationsociety.com.
Cherri worked for Flint Community Schools first as a Child Care Aide with Rainbow Learning Programs, then later as a Lunch Aide with Head Start. Cherri attended Bentley Community Schools until the 9th grade and graduated from Kearsley Community Schools in 1997.
Cherri leaves to cherish her memory, her longtime fiancé Scott Garcia; daughter Nichole Maldaner (Johnny); son Cody Yorks (Natalie); son Joseph Yorks; beloved grandchildren Addison & Jack; mother Deborah Barrett (Michael); father Joseph Maldaner; sisters Jennifer Barber & Ashley Alcala (Chris); nieces and nephews Chris Atkins (Jordy), Carman Barber (Dillon), Victoria & Emilia Alcala.
