Milton S. Longshore, 81, of Alpha, Il. Died Monday January 10, 2011 at Genesis Medical Center in Silvis, IL. Per his request, cremation has been accorded and there will be no services. He was born February 16, 1929 in Sparta, IL. to Noah and Georgia Wright
Longshore. He attended the DuQuoin, Il. schools and married Rosalie L. Swallers June 14, 1947 in DuQuoin. She died July 10, 1997.
Milton was employed throughout the years at various places including the
Illinois Central Railroad, the Illinois Dept of Corrections in Joliet, General Motors in Lagrange, IL. and was a farmhand for Martin Olson. He worked as a Machinist, then Maintenance Carpenter and finally a welder at John Deere Plow and Planter retiring in 1984.
He was a former member of the Moose Lodge, the UAW and he enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting.
Survivors include 2 sons, Ronald (Christine) Longshore of Andover, Il,
Robert Longshore of Alpha, 4 grandchildren Jeff, Jim, Angela and Mary
Jo and 11 great grandchildren.
His parents, wife, and 4 brothers preceded him in death.
