VOHWINKLE, Norma Rogene (Ash), age 86 – of Metamora, passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2021, at the Pines of Burton. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Richfield Road United Brethren Church, 6259 Richfield Rd., Flint, MI 48506. Pastor John Brainard will officiate with interment at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Family will receive visitors 12–2 PM and 4-7 PM on Friday, July 23, 2021 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be considered to the Richfield Road United Brethren Church.
Norma was born in Beaverton, MI, daughter of the late Edward and Marie (Ulschafer) Ash. She married Hugh Arthur Vohwinkle on June 21, 1952, and he preceded her in death. Norma had a green thumb and enjoyed being outside in her garden. She was a long-time member of the Richfield Road United Brethren Church and loved her church and church family. She had a heart to serve. Norma was elected to the Kearsley School Board. She was elected and served for many years in Richfield Township as Trustee, and then served as Township Clerk. Norma was an avid bowler, and enjoyed playing Dominos, and cards with family. She was known to make the best apple crisp. Norma quilted and crafted. She always loved a good challenge.
Norma is survived by her children, Denise Miller, Dean (Lyn) Vohwinkle and Julie (Mark) Seyfried; grandchildren, Cara, Lawrence and Joel Miller, Brandie Paul, Ryan and Kelly Vohwinkle, Jason and Angie Seyfried, Marie and Dallen Ashby; great-grandchildren, Jonah and Norah Ashby, Nolan and Blaire Seyfried; sisters, Marcia, Flora; in-laws, Terry Vohwinkle and Carol (Jim) Mattoon; many loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Arthur (Marguerite) Vohwinkle; sisters, Lucille, Kathryn and Doris; brothers, Ron, Earnest, Richard, Bernard, Ralph, Claude and Larry; in-laws, Bryce (Evelyn) Vohwinkle and Yvonne Vohwinkle.
