Nichols, Herbert “Herb” – of Clio, age 85, passed away Monday, March 25, 2024, at Cranberry Park Assisted Living. Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Messiah Lutheran Church - 520 Butler St, Clio, Mi Pastor Erik Cloeter officiating. Burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Monday from 3PM until 8PM, and at the church on Tuesday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Memorial contributions may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church.
Herb was born on April 9, 1938, and was a proud veteran of the United States Marines. He married the love of his life, Glendora Duncan, on June 3, 1967. Herb was a dedicated employee at General Motors for over 30 years, where he served as a foreman. He also found joy as a member of the Clio Eagles and the Clio Masons, where he formed lasting friendships within the community. Herb was an enthusiastic golfer, taking part in leagues at Vienna Greens, and he cherished his time spent hunting, fishing, and, in particular, fishing trips in Canada. A true family man, Herb’s greatest joy came from spending time with his loved ones. He will be dearly missed by many.
Surviving are: Daughter, Michelle (Chris) DeHate; Grandchildren: Olivia (Ron) Bennett, Isabelle DeHate, Paige DeHate, and Joshua Nichols; Brothers: Dennis (Karen) Nichols, and Jimmy (Jean) Nichols; Many several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in passing by his wife, Glendora Nichols; Son, Mark Nichols; Sisters: Mata Swick, and Jeanette Daenzer.
