Age: 84
Community: Services will be held at St. John Vianney, Flint, MI

Beverly Ann (Flood) Fisher went home to be with the Lord on July 10, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Beverly was born on July 4, 1942, to Raymond and Bertha (Paclaw) Flood. She came into this world like a firecracker and went out like one, too.Beverly was involved in a number of organizations throughout her lifetime. She was a cheerleader at Sacred Heart High School and graduated in 1960. She and her husband, Doug, served as chairpersons of the Holy Rosary Festival for eight years during the 1980s. They also served as facilitators for Marriage Encounter for many years. Beverly was also a member of the Moms Club and served as a Girl Scout troop leader. In recent years, she served on various boards at St. John Vianney Catholic Church and St. Luke's N.E.W. Life Center. Bev never met a stranger. She once met a woman while standing in line at Macy's and ended up hugging her three times before they parted ways. She possessed a natural gift for drawing people in and finding common ground with them. She was caring, generous, and made everyone feel welcome. Many people knew her as an avid shopper. What an understatement that was! We referred to her as a Chico's-branded "diva fashionista" because she always looked like a million bucks. Her husband, Doug, is sure that she spent close to that working there for 5 years. Beverly was firm in her beliefs, stubborn as a mule, and could give you a look that let you know she meant business. Her son Scott was the recipient of many of those unforgettable glares. Integrity was the one word by which she lived. She exemplified that trait in everything she did, and we learned by her example. Bev's favorite saying, "It is what it is," was one she often shared. Bev loved to cook and was especially known for her Spanish rice and baked beans. She made sure to teach her granddaughters, Jordan and Julia, the recipes so they would never be forgotten. Beverly was known by many names: Wife, Mom, Nana, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Sister, Aunt, and Friend. To Doug, she was simply "Beve." She married Doug Fisher on March 7, 1970, and together they shared 56 wonderful years while raising five children. She leaves behind the family she loved "to infinity and beyond," including her husband, Doug; children, Lorrie (Voelker) Kilburn, Doug (Julie) Fisher, Scott (Julia) Voelker, Theresa Fisher, and Kristina (Wayne) Lockwood; grandchildren, Trace Fisher,
Joshua Voelker, Dara (Kilburn) Gillies, Jordan Brown, and Julia Brown; great-grandchildren, Graham Fisher, Lyndon Fisher, and Elena Burns; sister, Sharon (Rick) Schlicht; brother, Tom (Rosemary) Reddy; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Bertha Flood, and her brother, Kelly Flood.
She also leaves behind extended family and dear friends: Bill and Pat Krayer and family, Steve and Susan Kelly and family, Fr. Tom Firestone, Sister Carol Weber, and a special new friend, Kathy Wahl.
In Bev's own words: "Sending love and thanks to my extraordinary medical team: Dr. Lisa Oltmanns, Dr. Victor Moles, Susie McDivett, NP, Marsha B., RN, and Dr. Carleigh Zahn. God blessed me with the very best." Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 17, 2026, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2415 Bagley Street, Flint. Fr. Thomas Firestone will officiate. Private entombment will take place at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home. On Friday morning, Bev will be taken to the church to lie in state from 10:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to St. Luke's N.E.W. Life Center, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or St. John Vianney Catholic School.
