Age: 95
Community: Lapeer, MI

Virginia "Jennie" Pearl King, 95, a lifetime resident of Lapeer passed away on July 31, 2020 in the comforts of her home and with her family at her side. Jennie was born in Lapeer on February 26, 1925 to (the late) Asa and Mable Costello. Jennie enjoyed playing Pinocle and Euchre with her friends and meeting her friends for lunch. She was warm-hearted and caring to everyone she knew and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jennie is survived by her daughter Karen (Larry) Faught; son Jimmy (Ruth Jessie) King; daughter Nancy (Matt) Kolbe; daughter-in-law Brenda King; grandchildren Craig (Lisa) Faught, Teri (Dana) Faught, Marci (Billy) Holt, Jasen (Priya) King, Sarah (Robert) Walther, Mike (LeeAnn) King, Kim (Kevin) Kingshott, Leah (Farhaan) Mir, Amy Kolbe, and Eric (Dom) Kolbe; 15 great-grandchildren and a special friend Cheryl Ireland.

Jennie was preceded in death by her husband James "Buck" King in 1991; son Larry King; two brothers and one sister.

Due to the current restrictions on social gatherings, a visitation in the traditional sense where people would gather together and visit for long periods of time is not permitted. However, it is important to Jennie's family that there is an opportunity for family and friends to enter the funeral home briefly and pay their final respects. With that in mind, visitation will take place at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel in Lapeer on Monday, August 3, 2020 from 2:00-7:00 PM. In an attempt to avoid large groups of people arriving at the funeral home at the same time, the funeral home and family have established designated visiting times:

If your last name starts with A - E from 2:00 – 3:00, F - J from 3:00 – 4:00, K - N from 4:00 – 5:00, O - S from 5:00 – 6:00, T - Z from 6:00 - 7:00.

Please adhere to the designated arrival times. If you are unable to come at the designated times you are still welcome. Be advised that no more than 10 people are allowed in the funeral home at a time, so we would encourage your time paying your respects be kept brief. Masks are required and please practice social distancing.

A private family only service will be held on Tuesday, August 4th at 11:00 a.m. at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors - Capstick Chapel. Pastor Roger Kerr will officiate. Interment will follow at West Deerfield Cemetery. Memorials to Habitat For Humanity are appreciated.
