FUNSCH, Leo "Jink" William - Of Burton, age 71, died Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Henry Ford Genesys Hospital.
Visitation 1-5pm Saturday, October 3, and 12pm Sunday, October 4, until the time of the service at the funeral home.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3pm Sunday, October 4, 2026, at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.

Leo was born in Flint, Michigan, on February 4, 1955, the son of the late Leo and Virginia Funsch. He graduated from Clio High School with the Class of 1973 and went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Education from Ferris State University. He later received a Master’s Degree from Marygrove College. On April 21, 2003, Leo married Linda Hiltz. He enjoyed fast-pitch softball, hunting, and fishing. A devoted Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions fan, Leo also cherished spending time with his family. Leo retired from Grand Blanc High School after a distinguished 31-year career in education, serving in a variety of roles throughout his tenure. He was deeply committed to his students and took great pride in helping them succeed. In addition to his work in the classroom, Leo served as a defensive coach for the school's football team.
Surviving are: Wife, Linda;
Son, Zachary Funsch;
Stepchildren, Erik Nielsen (Stacy Hunt), Kirsten (Nicole) Dailey and Tony Funsch;
Grandchildren, Maeleigh Funsch, Riley Funsch, Ellyette Funsch and Asta Dailey;
Brother, Matt Funsch;
Sisters, Laura Funsch, Julie (Ralph) Farr and Mary (Dan) McCann;
Sister-in-law, Ruth Funsch;
And several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Stephen Funsch, brothers, Craig Funsch and Joseph Funsch.
