James Ellis, 69, of Flushing, passed away peacefully Monday, July 27 at Sage Lake in Lupton, Michigan. Jim was born to Larry and Carol Ellis on March 5, 1957. He grew up on Lake Fenton, where he became an avid swimmer, boater, and water skier. His family later moved to Montrose, where he graduated high school in 1975. He would go on to marry Mary Ann Kane in 1981 and welcome two children, Erin (1986) and Andy (1988). He was a proud member of Sheet Metal Workers International Association and had been enjoying his well deserved retirement. He loved nothing more than being at the cottage on Sage Lake and would have remained there year-round if the pipes would allow it. Always the busy body, you could find Jim tinkering in the garage, restoring an old boat, or lending a hand to fix or build something with a friend.
Jim is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Ellis; daughter Erin Ellis and favorite son-in-law Ted Sliwinski; son Andy Ellis and soon-to-be daughter-in-law, Casey Brunetti; beloved grandson Ezra Sage; sister Lori; a gaggle of nephews and one very special niece and goddaughter, Taler Kane. Jim was also blessed with many long-time friends, whether from school, work, or the lake. |
