ARMSTRONG, Marguerite – of Clio, age 101, died Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Gross Assisted Living in Clio. Funeral services will be held 11AM, Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Mayfair Bible Church, 5339 W. Pearson road, Flushing. Pastor Dean Stewart officiating. Burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Wednesday from 4PM until 8PM and at the church on Thursday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Memorial contributions may be made to Mayfair Bible Church or Kindred Hospice.
Marguerite was born July 7, 1917 in Middle Point, Ohio to the late Hugh and Charlotte (Kelly) Nixon. She graduated from Monroe High School in 1936. Marguerite worked as a cafeteria supervisor for Wheaton College from 1979 until 1990. She was very active with Mayfair Bible Church, she had been a member there since 1985. Marguerite loved going to family reunions, because she cherished spending time with her family.
Surviving are: Daughters: Trish Armstrong and Midge Dahle; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; 3 great-great-great grandchildren; Brother, Marvin (Lindy) Nixon; Sisters: Katherine Holcomb, Brenda Nixon, and Georgia Nixon. She was also preceded in death by: Grandson, Dale Armstrong; Brothers: Robert, Delbert, and Milo Nixon; Sisters: Marcile Runyon, Mary Baker, Doris Jones, Evelyn Baumgartner, and special friend, Barbara Griffin. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the owners and staff of Gross Assisted Living for their care and compassion for Marguerite over the last 4 years.
