MCBRIDE, Dale E. – Of Swartz Creek, age 88, passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Vibrant Living in Durand surrounded by his family.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at the Swartz Creek Community Church, 7400 Miller Road, Swartz Creek 48473, with Pastor Dan Bowman and Rev. Dr. J.D. Landis officiating. The burial will follow at Crestwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:00am on Saturday until the time of service.
Dale was born in Flint, Michigan on December 10, 1935, the son of the late William and Edith (Hayward) McBride. He retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. He married Rhona Coffee in 1985. Dale faithfully attended Swartz Creek Community Church for 20 years. He was known for his generosity, humor and wit. Most of all, he cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Surviving are wife, Rhona McBride;
Children, Dennis (Laurie) McBride and Diane (Charles) Rau;
Step-children, Brian (Annette) Coffee and Jonathan (Samran) Coffee;
Grandchildren, Alyssa (Derek) Foster, Matthew (Fiance, Alyssa Walker) McBride, Jennifer Eckstein, Ian (Emily) Eckstein, Michael Eckstein, Kyle Rau, Bodhi and Kai, Marley, Gus, Shiloh and Hunter Coffee;
6 great-grandchildren;
Mother of his children and friend, Loretta Keyes;
and sister-in-law, Mildred McBride
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Edith McBride; children, Mark and Kathleen McBride; 2 sisters and 1 brother.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Dale’s memory are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association or Samaritans Purse.
