On August 28, 1948, she married Norman Paget, and together they shared a lifetime of love, companionship, and memories until his passing in 2007. Leona began her career working in the offices at AC Spark Plug and later served as assistant director at Holy Rosary Day Care, where she devoted many years before retiring in 1991. She had a special love of history and enjoyed bringing the past to life through her portrayal of Mrs. Peter at the historic Peter Mansion in Columbiaville, MI. She also portrayed Corrie ten Boom at Calvary Presbyterian Church and other area churches, sharing the remarkable story of a woman whose faith, courage, and compassion left a lasting impression. Leona enjoyed being involved in her community and was a charter member of the East Flint Lions Auxiliary and the Otisville Classy Lassies of the Red Hat Society. She valued the friendships formed through these organizations and the many opportunities to gather, laugh, and share experiences. Her faith was an important foundation throughout her life. As a devoted member of Calvary Presbyterian Church, she served faithfully as both an elder and a deacon, giving her time and heart to a church family she cherished.
Leona's life was shaped by her faith, her willingness to serve, and the many relationships she built along the way. She had a gift for connecting with people, whether through her church, her community involvement, or her love of sharing history. Her years were filled with purpose, friendship, and experiences that made her life uniquely her own. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories and will be fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Leona is survived by 2 grandsons, Patrick Maglothin and Michael Paget; 4 step-granddaughters; daughter-in-law, Lynne Paget; many great-grandchildren, other loving family members and dear friends. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Leona’s neighbors, Tom and Jane, and her lifelong friends, Janie and Kathy, whose kindness, friendship, and unwavering care meant so much to her throughout the years. Their thoughtfulness, compassion, and presence in Leona’s life brought comfort and joy, and the family will always be grateful for the special place they held in her heart.
