Bob, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away February 10, 2018 at Covenant – Cooper in Saginaw. Age 79 years. He was born June 7, 1938 in Richville to George & Elizabeth (Schultz) Spannagel. Bob married Janice Nickel on November 1, 1958. She survives him. He worked at Buick in Flint for 30 years. Bob enjoyed the out-of-doors, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, motorcycles and fast cars as well as working in his shop. He loved spending time with his family and adventures with his friends and loved ones. His motto: Go Fast, Drive Straight.
Surviving besides his wife, Janice are son, Rean Spannagel and daughter, Ronda (Phil) Hildebrandt; four grandchildren, Kara Yuker (Jay Fuller), Nicholas (Nikki) Spannagel, Cassie (Tristan) Hanson, and Leah (JT) Morgan; eight great grandchildren, Kayden, MaKenzie, Tristan, Kaily, Anders, Mason, Brooklyn and Oliver; brothers William (Verla) Spannagel, Ronald (Linda) Spannagel; sister, Sandy Burdine; sisters-in-law Janet Spannagel and Joanne Spannagel and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Elizabeth Spannagel; in-laws, Franklin and Eleanor Nickel; brothers, Gerald Spannagel, Jacob Spannagel and brother-in-law Monty Burdine.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Kendall Funeral Home, St. Charles. Reverend Jeanne Lapine will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
