Matt was born in Flint, MI on June 24, 1930, son of the late Matthew and Avis (McCabe) Rozboril, Sr. On June 20, 1953, Matt married Melba Frances Whiteside and she preceded him in death on June 11, 2018. His thirst for knowledge led him to graduate from Central High School in the Class of 1948, followed by earning an associate degree in Engineering from Flint Junior College in 1950. He furthered his education at Michigan State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in 1952. Matt proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956 as an S-2 Military Intelligence officer, stationed in Stuttgart, Germany. Following his military service, Matt embarked on a distinguished career with General Motors, where he served as an Automotive Sales Manager until his retirement in 1987. His remarkable tenure spanned 31 years and left an indelible mark on those he worked with. Prior to his career at General Motors, Matt was employed with North American Aviation in Columbus, OH from 1952-1956. Outside of his professional life, Matt had a myriad of passions and interests. An avid classic car and NASCAR enthusiast, he relished the thrill of the race and followed the sport with enthusiasm. Matt also enjoyed reading, bowling, boating with his family and challenging himself with crossword puzzles. Travel was a significant part of Matt's life, and he explored both the United States and Europe extensively, cherishing every adventure. He found solace and joy at his cottage on Lake Charlevoix in Boyne City, where he created cherished memories with loved ones. The winter months found him in Alabama and Florida, enjoying the warmth and companionship of dear friends. A true outdoorsman, Matt relished in bear hunting in the U.P. with his sons, Mike and Dan, as well as fishing excursions in Canada. He also enjoyed having a cold beer at his son, Dan’s, bar The Knot Hole Bar in Comins, MI. Matt was an active member of the AC Up-North Retirement Club, where he fostered lasting friendships and shared camaraderie. Matt was a dedicated member of the Society of Automotive Engineering and the GM Retirement Club. One of Matt's most cherished moments was traveling on the Mid-Michigan Honor Flight with his son, Michael, on June 7, 2022. It was a fitting tribute to his service and sacrifice for his country.

Matt is survived by 2 sons, Michael John (Susan) Rozboril and Daniel James (Sandra) Rozboril; 4 grandchildren, Sean (Nicole), Christopher (Kendra), Dylan and Sarah; 4 great-grandchildren, Olivia, Dominic, Rhys and Cayde; many other loving family members and dear friends.
