CALCAGNO, Gloria Alice (Cunningham) – of Burton, MI, age 97, passed away Thursday, October 30, 2025. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5199 Richfield Road, Flint, MI 48506; Rev. Fr. Roy Horning celebrant. Entombment immediately following the Mass in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 4-7 PM Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423 and 10-11 AM Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to North End Soup Kitchen, in Gloria’s memory.
Gloria was born in Flint, MI on November 26, 1927, daughter of the late James and Clarice (Panicki) Cunningham. Gloria was united in marriage to the love of her life, Michael Calcagno, on September 18, 1948. Their beautiful union of over five decades was filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion until Michael’s passing on November 10, 2004. A dedicated and hardworking woman, Gloria retired from AC Spark Plug in 1984, after 30 years of loyal service. Gloria was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where her faith provided her with strength, comfort, and guidance throughout her life. Outside of work and church, Gloria found great joy in simple pleasures—knitting, crocheting, and spending cherished time with her beloved family. Gloria’s legacy of love, faith, and family will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Gloria is survived by 2 children, Joe Calcagno and Rita (James) Avery; 4 grandchildren, Nicci (Dennis) Lumm, Tony Calcagno, Kristina (Tom) Garavaglia and Jon-Erik (Khailey) Avery; 6 great-grandchildren, Zoey, Olivia, Sophia, Ava, Vincent and Coen; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Clarice Cunningham; husband, Michael Calcagno and brother, Bernard Cunningham.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Abbey Park, The Medical Team, and Hospice for their compassionate care, kindness, and support during this time.
