Robert "Bob" J. McLeod

Born: 2/27/1942
Died: 4/11/2025
Age: 83
Community: Flint, MI

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert "Bob" J. McLeod, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, who left us on April 11, 2025. Born and raised in Flushing, Bob was a proud member of the community who carried a love for his hometown throughout his life. He was known for his infectious smile, warm spirit, and hands-on approach to everything he did.

Bob spent many years working at General Motors, where his dedication, skill, and work ethic made him a respected member of the team. Outside of work, he was a master of many crafts—whether it was tinkering with tools to fix anything that needed mending or sharing his extensive knowledge on how to fix just about anything with anyone who asked. He had a natural ability to bring things back to life, much like his passion for family and friends.

One of his greatest joys was cooking, especially when it came to family gatherings and celebrations. He had a true love for baking. No birthday was complete without one of his famous cakes or a batch of freshly baked treats. His rib recipes, passed down through the years, will be remembered for their perfect blend of seasoning and love.

Bob was also known for his love of fishing, often spending time on the water with friends and family, sharing stories and making memories. And when it came to relaxing at home, there was always a cold Budweiser in hand and a warm smile on his face. His heart was as big as his appetite for sweets, especially when it came to donuts, which he always seemed to have room for.

Above all, Bob cherished his family. He was a devoted father and grandfather who took great pride in watching his loved ones grow and flourish. His home was always a gathering place, a place where love, laughter, and great food could be found in abundance.

Bob leaves behind a legacy of generosity, hard work, and love that will forever be cherished by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in the stories we tell, the recipes we recreate, and the love he so freely gave.

He is survived by his children: Mark (Wendi) McLeod, Russell McLeod, Jackie Strickland; grandchildren: Nicole and Kenyada Dent, Kylee McLeod, Tyler McLeod and many other grandchildren; great grandchildren: Adrian, Kyren, Kiara and many other great grandchildren; siblings: Connie Middleton and Terry McLeod; adopted daughter, Patty "Jo" Robinson; life long friend and former wife, Karen Harbaugh; many nieces and nephews; and countless friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings and son, John McLeod.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date, where we will gather to share stories, honor his memory, and enjoy some of the things he loved most—family, food, and laughter.
