DURANT, Dewayne – of Burton, MI, age 86, passed away on September 2, 2026. A Funeral Service will be held at 12 Noon Wednesday, September 9, 2026 at Allen Funeral Home 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Lester Remington officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday from 11 AM - 7 PM, September 8, 2026 at the funeral home. There will be visitation on Wednesday from 10 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to be given to the Genesee County 4-H Horse Leaders Association.
Dewayne was born in Tawas, MI on August 5, 1940, son of the late Alton and Eleanor (Katterman) Durant. He married Donna Seymour on September 15, 1962 in Tawas, MI. Dewayne “Slim” worked at General Motors as a crane operator retiring with over 40 years of service. He was a long member of the RooWheSeyKruWilDur hunting club. Dewayne loved hunting and shooting with all of his children and grandchildren.
Dewayne is survived by wife, Donna; children, Beth Ann Miller and Joe (Betty) Durant; grandchildren, Justin (Holly) Durant, Jon (Kayla Seeley) Durant, Ryan (Ashley Tilley) Miller, Kelsey (Cody) Illes, Kayla (Cameron) Martin and Samantha Miller; great grandchildren, Aubrey, Kaylee, Henry, Makenzie, Mae-Beth, Grayson and Neil; brother, Darl (Gina) Durant and sister, Kaye (Ed) Proudfoot; sister-in-law, Sandy Durant; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by siblings, Gale Durant, Irvin Durant and Faye Durant.
