GLOWSKI, EDWARD EARL JR. – Of Grand Blanc, age 95, passed peacefully into eternal life on June 5, 2025.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, June 23, 2025, at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Deacon Dennis Pennell officiating.
Visitation 5-7pm Sunday June 22, 2025, at the funeral home.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery with military honors.
In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of his wife Helen.
Edward was born in Flint, Michigan on June 14, 1929, the son of the late Edward Sr. and Mildred (Farber) Glowski.
Ed attended Franklin College, earning his bachelor’s degree in accounting. Edward served his country honorably as a cryptographer during the Korean Conflict. He was then employed as a Cost Analyst at General Motors Fisher Body #1 in Flint, Michigan, retiring after 32 years.
Ed enjoyed watching sports, traveling, telling jokes, sharing stories, working on puzzles, and spending time with his family and friends. In his later years he enjoyed playing internet Scrabble with his family around the country. He always savored a good homemade chocolate shake.
Surviving are sons, John Glowski and wife Gail, Daniel Glowski, Ronald James and wife Dr. Nilda Garcia, Gary Glowski and wife Sheri; and Steve Brown, whom he reunited with later in life; eight grandchildren, Dr. Kimberly Glowski and husband David Nazari, Scott Glowski and wife Virginia, Lauren Glowski, Rachel Schick and husband Dr. Jason Schick, David Glowski, Gregory James, Brian Glowski, and Anna Glowski; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 67 years, Helen, sisters, Eleanor, Dorothy and Shirley.
