Age 82, of Flint, died April 8, 2016, at his home. The funeral service will take place 1:00 pm Friday, April 15, 2016, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services-Genesee Township. Terry’s family will be present at the funeral home to receive friends on Wednesday, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Thursday from 12 noon until 8:00 pm then on Friday from 11:00 am until time of service.
Terry was born March 17, 1934, in Grayridge, Missouri, the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. James Loyd and Inez (Dejournett) Byrd. He and Zona Hougland were united in marriage on November 12, 1955, in Flint. Terry worked for General Motors for 33 ½ years before retiring in 1988. In his free time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and going to the casino. He also loved spending time with his family and friends.
Left to cherish his memory are daughters: Charlene Hayward, Rhonda Byrd, Marina and husband, Harold McKenzie, Yvonne Gunn, Monica and husband, Steven Roy and Angela Byrd; grandchildren: Susie Carr, Terry Daniels, Harold II and wife, Linnea McKenzie, Scott and wife, Tiffany Roy, Jennifer Roy and Amanda Byrd; great granddaughter, Grace Roy; sisters: Ettabell and Dorothy and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son-in-law Mark, grandson Nicholas, twin brother Jerry, and sisters, Viola, Evelyn, Flossie, Floy and Naomi.
