Stevens, Damon Lawrence of Swartz Creek, age 50, died Wednesday, June 10, 2026. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Caterer Family Funeral Home (formerly Rossell). A gathering of family and friends will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, and 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Damon was born in Flint, Michigan on March 11, 1976, the son of James and Ila (Leavitt) Stevens. He was a graduate of Flushing High School, Class of 1994, where he played Varsity Baseball. He earned his bachelor's degree from Milwaukee School of Engineering in 1998. While there, he was a member of the Kappa Eta Kappa Fraternity.
Damon worked in the automotive industry for General Motors, Roush Industries, and most recently for Ford Motor Company for over 25 years.
Damon was an avid Michigan State, Ohio State, Dallas Cowboys, and Detroit Tigers fan. He loved hunting, fishing, golfing and traveling to MLB stadiums with his dad and his son. Damon also enjoyed running in various 5K races around the state. However, Damon’s most joyous part of life was being a father and spending time with and supporting his beloved son, Alex.
Damon is survived by his son, Alex; step-mom, Salli; step-brothers, Nic and wife Jackie; Ben and wife Korrine; aunt Patty, aunt Vickie; cousin, Adam; nephews and nieces, Brooks, Harrison, Jaye, Sloane, and Evie; Alex’s mother, Andrea and the Bergstrom and Lurvey families; the Bloss and Leavitt families; special friends, Tim and wife Mel, the Christmas dinner group, FIB/Bill and wife Jody; as well as many other relatives, friends and colleagues. He was preceded in death by his father, James; uncle Jerry; and his grandparents. |
