David Aretus Pratt Sr., a proud United States Marine and beloved father and grandfather, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of strength, honor, and devotion to family.
David served his country with distinction as a U.S. Marine, embodying the values of duty, resilience, and quiet strength throughout his life.
His integrity and love for his family were constant that guided and inspired all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving daughter Mary Pratt, and his two sons: David Pratt Jr and Lloyd Pratt (Sherry Honaker), as well as grandchildren, Nicole Pratt (Tyler Frentress), Scott Pratt (Patricia Pratt), Heather Pratt, Cassey Pratt, and Josef Pratt. He was a proud grandfather and great grandfather to 12 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
David is preceded in death by his cherished wife Nancy Pratt, his daughter Kathy Pratt, and his grandson Andrew Pratt.
David will be remembered as a man of few words but deep wisdom, a steady presence in the lives of his family, and a veteran who served his country with courage and dignity. His loss is deeply felt, but his spirit and values live on in the generations he helped shape.
Funeral service will be held at 1pm Monday, August 4, 2025, at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Hank Messing officiating.
Visitation will be at 10am till the time of service on Monday, August 4, 2025, at the funeral home.
Entombment at Flint Memorial Park.
