ETHINGTON, Helen – Of Grand Blanc, age 87, died Thursday, February 21, 2019 at her residence.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 25, 2019 at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, 2143 South Center Road in Burton, Father Matthew-Peter Butrie officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to St. Nicholas Orthodox Church Endowment Fund.
Visitation 3-8 p.m. Saturday and 1-8 p.m. Sunday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
A Parastas Service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Ethington will be at the church from 10 a.m. Monday until the time of the service.
Helen was born in Flint, Michigan on June 15, 1931, the daughter of
Vasil and Maria (Alexander) Samaras.
Helen married Donald Ethington on November 11, 1950 in Flint and he preceded her in death on October 20, 2001.
She was an active member of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church.
Surviving are 5 children, Marc and wife Karen,
Scott and wife Betsy,
Kristin and husband John McKellar,
Eric and wife Caroline,
Patrick and wife Leslie;
9 grandsons, Christopher, Justin, Collin, Matthew, Patrick, Eric, Jason, Jacob and Nicholas;
1 granddaughter, Alyssa;`
8 great-grandchildren, Kyle, Kaitlin and Brendan, Megan, Christian, Jakob, Lily and Hannah;
and many nieces and nephews.
