WIESE, John Paul, age 91, of Fenton, passed away on August 24, 2026. A Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, September, 9, 2026 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 W. Silver Lake Road, Fenton, with Fr. Gabriel Bilas officiating. A time of sharing memories of John will be held at 12:45 PM prior to the service. Visitation will be 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, Mt Morris, MI. Memorial contributions in John's memory would be appreciated to The ARC Michigan, 1325 South Washington Ave., Lansing, MI 48910.
John was born August 15, 1935. in Flint, the son of Emil J. and Anna L. (Meyenberg) Wiese. He married Janet Wilkinson-Frick in Fenton on July 25, 2015. John graduated from Flint Northern High School in 1952. He later graduated from GMI in 1957 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. John was a member of Delta Chi Rho and Sigma Nu Fraternities. He was a part of a team at A.C. Spark Plug in Milwaukee, WI that developed the guidance system for the Mercury Space program in the 1960's. John spent the majority of his career as a production and plant engineer at the Fisher Body Plant #1 in Flint where he finally served as the plant manager involved in the closing of the plant. He served on the Livingston County Tax Board, The Red Cross Disaster team, and 25 years with the National Ski Patrol. He also was active with Junior Achievement, and the Boy Scouts and Explorers of America. John also was a member of the Hartland Historical Society, The Hartland Audubon Society, and was a lecturer on Native American Basketry. John had a brilliant mind and an incredible memory. He excelled at remembering various historic periods and could explain to others about a variety of topics with great expertise.
John is survived by his wife, Janet; children, Carol Ann (Robert) McDonald, Sara Lynne (Kurt) Jensen, Thomas Emil (Suzanne) Wiese, and Paul Andrew Wiese; grandchildren, Stephanie Bates, Mereideth Mitchell, and Samantha Libby; 9 great grandchildren; 4 great -great grandchildren; stepsons, Dorian and Damian Kondas; step grandchildren, Christopher, Isaiah, and Ethan; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
John was preceded in death by, his parents, Emil and Anna Wiese; wife, Bethany Wiese; and Stepson, Dimitri Kondas. Online tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
