GEORGE, Irene B. – Of Swartz Creek, age 94, died Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at McLaren-Flint.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road in Burton,
Father Steve Anderson officiating.
Entombment at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to American Heart Association or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Visitation 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Mrs. George will be at the church from 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of the Mass.
Irene was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 2, 1927, the daughter of John and Cecila Stacklewitz and was a resident of the Flint area for over 50 years. She married Joe George on May 21, 1949 and he preceded her in death.
Irene was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, it's Altar Society and CCW.
Surviving are 5 children, David, Richard, Deborah Earl, Crystal and husband Jim Saule and Robert;
10 grandchildren, Kellie, Nicholas and wife Stepfanny, Joey, Mathew, Jason and wife Amber, Alyssa, Heather, Haily, Elizabeth, Ashley;
12 great-grandchildren;
several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; sisters, Dorothy, Elenore and Virginia; her brother, Thomas.
