Edith Marie Brooks, 69, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 23, 2021. She was born in Flint, Michigan on May 7, 1952 to parents Charles and Edith (Roe) Brooks. Minnie had a big generous heart with great empathy for the vulnerable. She especially had a soft spot for homeless animals that she sheltered over the years, at one time having 4 dogs and 4 cats. If others were unable to afford the care of their own pets, she would help foot the bill. Her animals brought her great joy, as did her beautiful plants and flowers. She loved sports and excelled at softball. Her gregarious, talkative nature and quick sense of humor endeared her to many.
Edith is survived by and left to cherish her memory, her son Paul Muehlenbeck, Jr., Sisters, Patricia Mandeville, Betty Elder, Linda (Mike) Griffor, Sally (Doug) LaBeau, Tammie (Dan) Baldwin; Brothers, Chuck (Theresa) Brooks, Bob (Gloria) Brooks and Tim (Rhonda) Brooks, many nieces and nephews and loyal neighbors and friends. Edith was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Kenneth Brooks and brother-in-law Don Mandeville
According to Edith’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service celebrating Minnie's Life will be held via Zoom Sunday, October 3, 2021 at 1:00pm. A Special Thanks to Compassus Hospice and Medilodge of Sterling. If anyone wishes to make a donation, you can donate to the Humane Society in Edith’s name. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Lee Ramsay Funeral Home-STANDISH CHAPEL, Standish, Michigan.
