BLOOMFIELD, Douglas Robert – of Davison, age 86, died Sunday, July 13, 2025 at his residence. Inurnment Service will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery on July 31, 2025 at 12:30pm. Memorial contributions can be made to the Charity of One’s Choice.
Douglas was born November 28, 1938 in Clio, Michigan to the late Ray and Helen (Kovacs) Bloomfield. He grew up in Clio, Michigan and graduated from Clio High School with the class of 1958. He received his Associates Degree after attending Mott Community College and U of M Flint Campus. Douglas proudly served his country in the USAF during the Vietnam era. On January 30, 1988 he married Patricia Spence in Flint, Michigan and she preceded him in death on March 4, 2024. Prior to his retirement in 1991, he worked for Buick Motor Division at Plant # 70 and Plant # 81 with 31.5 years of service. He went to the EIJ Instrument Repair for his Journeyman Card in Instrument Repair while working for Buick. He was a member of the Clio Eagles Aerie # 3609. Douglas enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He played softball while serving in the USAF. He never met a stranger and loved to socialize. His family was his pride and joy in life and he loved spending time with all of them.
Surviving are: Children, Mark (Cheryl) Bloomfield, Michael (Michelle) Bloomfield, Lisa (Bryan) Wagner, David (Naomi) Spaulding; Grandchildren, Courtney (Eric Engman) Bloomfield, Greg (Kendra) Bloomfield, Madelyn (Kaleb) Ethridge, Amanda (Jason) Sparks, David II (Meagan) Spaulding, Curtis (Ashlee) Spaulding, Cristy (Eric) LaJeunesse, Jerrid Wagner; Great Grandchildren, Olivia Jo, Josephine, Cameron, Gabriel, Jada, Triston, Aspen, Levi, Caroline, Sophia, Lily; and Kade on the way; Sister, Nina (Henry) Fenner; several other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his Parents; Wife, Patricia Bloomfield; Son, Jeffrey Bloomfield; Granddaughter, Micque Bloomfield; Siblings, Kenny, Grace (Ronald), John (Jeanette), Ray (Lois), Clare (Frieda), Richard (Ann), Marilyn (Clint).
