HILDEN, Janet Kathleen Duff – age 83, Of Roswell, Georgia, formerly of Flushing, lived a long, happy life. She passed away at home in Roswell, Georgia, Saturday, September 11, 2021.
Funeral service will be held 11am Friday, September 17, 2021 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor Sarah LaRose-Nettell officiating.
Entombment in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Visitation 4-8pm Thursday at the funeral home.
Janet was born in Flint, Michigan on April 27, 1938 the daughter of Eva B. (Michel) and Donovan Preston Duff. She married Jerry Robert Hilden on November 3, 1956. They met at the wedding of Jerry’s brother and Janet’s cousin. Together they have one daughter, Stephanie Myer and her husband Dave Myer. She was a beloved Nana to her only grandchild, Alexandria Myer.
Janet is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Michael Earl Duff.
Janet attended Flint Technical High School, Class of 1956. She attended classes at Mott Community College. Janet was a loyal and respected employee at General Motors Corporation for 35 years. She was a dedicated Lutheran. Janet was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church-Flint and Mt. Pisgah Methodist Church-Johns Creek, Georgia. She was a member of the Flint Jaycees Auxiliary and served as its President. Janet was also a member of the Flint Industrial Business Girls, American Quilt Guild, and Genesee Star Quilters. She loved cooking, sewing, crafting, quilting, reading, and traveling. With her family, she lived in Michigan, Florida, Colorado, and Georgia.
For the last two years, Janet was dealing with the onset of Parkinson’s Disease.
