Bruce was born in Flint, Michigan on July 12, 1931, the son of the late Paul and Verna (Mathews) Titus. On August 4, 1953, he married Virginia Parsons.
In 1949, he was employed by General Motors and worked at Buick as a skilled tool maker. The following year in 1950, he joined the Air Force and served as an MP during the Korean War. His honorable service continued until 1954. He was stationed in Sacramento, California where he attended a local church. During this time he met Virginia and together they embarked on a shared journey of faith and compassion. Their bond deepened through their joint efforts in prison ministry, with Virginia playing accordion and Bruce leading singing. Their partnership culminated in marriage in 1953. After discharge from the Air Force, Bruce and Virginia returned to Flint, where Bruce resumed his dedicated work at Buick, employed in Plant 06. Over his remarkable 51 year tenure at Buick, Bruce was an active contributor to various philanthropic endeavors. He whole heartedly participated in Toys for Tots, served on the Chaplain Committee, and consistently donated blood through the Red Cross amassing over 5 gallons in total.
A Servant worship leader, Bruce’s devotion to guiding others in their spiritual journey was evident. From 1963-1976 he held the role of Worship Leader at Trinity Assembly of God, concurrently he contributed to a gospel quartet that ministered through song. In 1978, he was invited to lead worship at Judson Baptist Church where his commitment extended to service on the Deacon Board. Furthermore, Bruce actively engaged with the Full Gospel Business Men’s Ministry, leading worship at various locations, including the Sweden House on Clio Road and Walli’s East Restaurant on Center Road in Flint. Bruce’s passion for the word of God was unwavering and he dedicated himself to encouraging others in their faith. For numerous years, he operated a tape ministry, producing and distributing countless Christian teaching tapes to individuals across Genesee County. In 2001, his involvement with Win Ministries began, overseeing the reproduction of Christian teaching CD’s and DVD’s. These materials played a pivotal role in training pastors across the globe. Notably, Bruce played a key role in establishing a studio in 2012, procuring essential equipment and supporting the establishment of pastor training schools worldwide. Bruce and Virginia enjoyed 64 years of marriage until her passing in 2018.
