Jacquelyn M. Farrow lost her battle with COPD on Oct. 11, 2026. She died peacefully with her significant other by her side. She was the daughter of Edwin A. Farrow and Paulina (Stead) Farrow, born April 2, 1943. Honoring her wishes, cremation will take place. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, October 23, 2026, from 3PM until 7PM at Junction of Hope – 4136 Peet Rd, Chesaning, MI. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Humane Society of Genesee County or Carriage Town Ministires.

Jacquelyn (Jackie) was a graduate of Clio Area High School in 1961 and completed various college classes at Mott Community College. She was one of the first female supervisors at AC Spark Plug where she was employed for 34 years. Over the years Jackie held fast to her Christian upbringing and values. She believed in a “hand-up” versus a “hand-out” for those in need and was always willing to offer support to those less fortunate.

Jackie was a gourmet cook who loved to try new foods and recipes. She traveled to Toronto, Canada several times to partake of the annual ethnic food festivals. She also catered various family affairs and holiday family dinners with assistance from Rodney who also enjoys cooking. She had many interests and contributed to various organizations in an effort to support women’s issues, endangered animals, homeless shelters, and the environment. She believed in climate change and was committed to recycling to protect our planet – no paper towels for her!

An avid reader, she loved to get lost in a good book and enjoyed a host of magazines which she perused and then took to doctors’ offices, etc. to share with others. She liked trivia, crossword puzzles and of course her various newspapers. Jackie and Rodney enjoyed music and surprised us all one holiday by playing Merry Christmas on the guitar after just a few lessons.

She followed politics with a keen eye on the candidates and their positions on important issues. Jackie saw the “Big Picture” clearly and cringed in dismay at some of the happenings of our time. She truly believed in “God Bless America”. Jackie loved plants and flowers and understood how important native plants are for the ecosystem – for our birds, bees and butterflies. (Thank you Jenny B.) Yes, she had milkweed growing in her yard for the butterflies! For the last few years of her life she became a shut-in as more of her circle of friends and family passed away. Not to be deterred, she found great joy in surprising remaining loved ones with unique and special gifts for which she had a keen talent.

Jackie loved animals. She and Rodney cared for two cats and two dogs until they passed away one by one, only to be replaced by another stray cat who has found a good home. Smart cat! Jackie will long be remembered for her sassy wit and feisty personality. She was smart, funny, loved a good joke and seldom turned down a good argument. Go with God, the angels and the butterflies! We will see you in the great beyond!

She leaves behind her significant other of 40 years, Rodney Laurin; two step-children Jamie (Marrie) Laurin and Amy Laurin; two grandchildren Alex (Jeff) Jensen and Avery (Aiden) Kieswether; two great grandchildren McKenzie and Taylor Jensen. Also the extended Laurin family. Sister Joyce Farrow and fiancee Robert Yaklin; cousins Barbara (Jim) Rush, David (Barbara) Beyerlein, LuAnn (Paul) Wallenius, and Carla Russell. Also her “work” daughter Mary Beth Bottoms and special friends Char and Dave Wood. Our heartfelt thanks to those who cared for Jackie until the end including: Hurley Hospital sixth floor doctors, nurses, and physical therapists and the Montrose Medilodge staff.
