MILLER, Lawrence “Lorry” Allen – of Clio, age 82, died Thursday, August 27, 2026 at Serene Gardens Memory Care. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 12, 2026 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Michigan. The family will receive visitors on Saturday, September 12, 2026 from 12:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Lorry was born February 15, 1944 in Flint, Michigan to the late Norman and Sandra (Leone) Miller. He grew up in Clio, Michigan and graduated from Clio High School with the class of 1962. Lorry proudly served his country in the US Army in Korea from 1965 to 1967. On December 21, 1966 he married Sharron Leach and she preceded him in death in 2023. Prior to his retirement in 2004, Lorry worked for GM on the line with 44.2 years of service. He played rugby on the Flint Rouge Rugby Team and was also a member of the YMCA in Flint, Michigan. Lorry was a member of the UAW Local 659 where he served as the Shop Chairman for Production and was also on the Union Label Committee. He played in softball and basketball leagues and was a Flint Golden Glove Boxer. Lorry was an avid motorcycle rider and enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson. He was a classic car enthusiast and bought all of his children and grandchildren classic cars over the years. Lorry loved spending time with his family and friends, whether at his cabin or at home, and was well-known for constantly whistling like a bird wherever he went. He never met a stranger.”
Surviving are: Children, Derek (Renee Burmeister) Miller, Lani (Ben) Ranger; Grandchildren, Benny Ranger, Rachal (Brent) Ranger-Scott; Siblings, Danny (Rozan) Miller, Paula (Mitch) Bellinger, Norma O’Donnell; Sister-in-law, Bonnie Miller; several nieces and nephews.
