Donald E. Maher, of Clio, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 14, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at SS Charles and Helena Catholic Church – 230 E. Vienna St., in Clio. Rev. Fr. Ken Coughlin celebrant. Burial at Flint Memorial Park to follow. The family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from 4PM until 8PM and at the church on Wednesday from 10AM until the time of Mass. A Rosary will be prayed at 7PM Tuesday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to SS Charles and Helena Catholic Church or to the Covenant Foundation.
Born in Clio, Michigan, to Edward and Alice Maher, Don married Barbara (Lauderman) Maher, the love of his life. He was a devout Catholic. Don dedicated 40 years to Hamady Bros. and later worked for Kroger.
Don deeply loved his wife, Barbara, whom he missed dearly, and they are now reunited in heaven. His love extended to his children, friends, and neighbors. Don enjoyed reading his Bible, following auto racing, he loved to make people laugh and engaging in conversations with everyone he met.
Don is survived by his children: Dennis Maher, Jackie (Lee) Tinnin, Laura (Frederick) Fritz, and Vicki (Russ) Watson. He also leaves behind his grandsons, Wade (Amber) Tinnin and Michael (Darynn) Tinnin, as well as two great-grandchildren, Evelyn and Michael Jr.; Siblings, Roberta O’hearn, Marvin (Janet) Maher and Gwen Shelton; Special dog, Axel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother in-laws, Robert Shelton and Leo O’hearn and his beloved wife, Barbara. |
