Joyce Anne Freeman, 89, of Grand Blanc, Michigan, passed away surrounded by love and leaves behind a legacy of family, creativity, and warmth.
Joyce was the beloved wife of Wayne Freeman and a devoted mother to her sons Wayne (Meagan) Freeman Jr., Bryan (Niles Annelin) Freeman, and Brad (Dina) Freeman and loving grandmother to Audrey, Lindsay, Jack, Katy, Sam and Katherine. Her family was the center of her life, and she took great pride in creating a home filled with care, laughter, and kindness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Mary Lajavic, and her brothers, Donald and Terry Lajavic.
Joyce dedicated 25 years of service to Buick in Flint, Michigan, where she was known for her strong work ethic and reliability. Outside of work, Joyce was a gifted and passionate craftswoman. She found joy in ceramics, toll painting, crocheting, and countless other creative hobbies, always eager to learn something new and share her talents with others.
She was especially renowned for her exceptional baking and her love of Eastern European pastries and cuisine. Joyce’s kitchen was a place of comfort and tradition, where recipes were perfected and memories were made. Her food was an expression of love, and those fortunate enough to enjoy it will never forget the care behind every dish.
A visitation to celebrate Joyce’s life will be hosted at Dryer Funeral Home in Holly, Michigan, Wednesday, January 21 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Joyce will be remembered for her creativity, generosity, and the deep love she held for her family. Her life was rich with purpose, and her spirit lives on in the many lives she touched.
