Mark Eugene Edwards, a cherished husband, son, father, brother, and friend, passed away on June 4, 2025, at the age of 64, in Marlette, Michigan. Born on July 17, 1960, in Salina, Kansas, to Charles & Francis (Matzenbach) Edwards, Mark’s journey through life was marked by an unwavering dedication to his family, a passion for the great outdoors, and a legacy of kindness that touched the hearts of all who knew him.
Mark's life was a testament to the power of love and commitment. He married the love of his life, Josie Bommarito, on February 17, 2006, in Lapeer, Michigan, and together they built a life founded on the principles of loyalty and mutual respect. Mark's father, Chuck Sr., his children, Autumn (Justin) Habbershaw, Jenna Edwards, Macey Edwards, and Donny Stein, and his grandchild, Rosalee Habbershaw, were the center of his world. His brother, Chuck (Teresa) Edwards, and his extended family, including brother-in-law Vince (Margie) Bommarito, sisters-in-law Grace (Lou) Backus, Maria (Mike) Desmet, Tina (Keith) Avallone, nephews Chuck III and Justin (Calla) Edwards, and niece Lindsey (Doug) Pender, will forever cherish the memories they shared with Mark. He was preceded in death by his mother, Francis, his brother Kenneth Edwards, in-laws Josephine and Russell Bommarito, and his close friend Brad Austin. Their memories remain a guiding light in the lives of those Mark left behind.
Mark was a successful business owner, having established Coverall Tent Rental, which not only provided for his family but also served as a gathering point for community events.
An avid hunter, fisherman, and all-around outdoorsman, Mark found solace in the beauty of nature. He was also an enthusiastic birdwatcher. Mark's love for the outdoors was matched by his joy in maintaining his home, where he took great pleasure in working in his yard and relaxing in the pool.
Known as a simple man who was grateful for everything he had. Mark was a history buff who enjoyed sharing his knowledge with others. He was a grill master who loved cooking for his family, and his competitive spirit often came out in the friendly banter he shared with family and friends. His two beloved dogs, Mia and Diva, were constant companions, reflecting his deep love for all animals.
Mark's cheerful disposition, helpful nature, and strong will were hallmarks of his character. He was humble yet dedicated, always putting the needs of others before his own. His loyalty was unwavering, and his love was boundless.
Mark Eugene Edwards will be remembered as a loving husband, son, father, brother, and friend. His legacy of love, laughter, and the joy he found in life's simple pleasures will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. His spirit, forever etched in the hearts of his loved ones, will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life in honor of Mark will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions in Memory of Mark can be made to The American Cancer Society.
