Age: 83
Community: Jerome, MI

Judith Elizabeth Lantz, 83 passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 20, 2025. She was born on September 30, 1941 in Fremont, Ohio to John W. and Genevieve Miller. Judy graduated from Owosso High School in 1959 where she was a member of the cheerleading squad, GAA, and the Senior Homecoming Court. Judy attended Michigan State University and Western Michigan University, her dad’s alma mater. She married David Lantz in April of 1966, after being introduced to him by her sister, Jayne and brother-in-law, Jim. Judy took on the role of coach’s wife naturally. Together, she and Dave raised three daughters, Kammy, Heather, and Kelli and lived in Newaygo, Richmond, and Clio as Dave pursued coaching opportunities. She devoted her life to her three girls sitting for hours on end at dance and gymnastic rehearsals, taking them to all the Friday night football games to watch their dad coach, and shopping for all their special occasion dresses. Once all her daughters were in school full-time, she worked as a part-time manager at The Tree House, a children’s boutique in Clio and then later at Bronner’s in Frankenmuth. Eventually she and Dave moved to Owosso so that she could help take care of her parents, and then to their lake house on Lake LeAnn in Jerome, MI. She was the absolute best Nana to her grandchildren- Alexis, Ashley, Kassidy, and Bryce attending their horse shows, musicals, dance recitals, and athletic events. She was so incredibly proud of all their accomplishments, and they adored her. She loved having them stay with her at the lake where the cupboards were also filled with their favorite treats. In her later years, Judy moved closer to her family in Lambertville where her grandkids were frequent visitors. She loved to shop with them, and she was always dressed in the latest style, her favorite being Tommy Hilfiger. Many times, her daughters and granddaughters borrowed clothes from her closet. She was a great bridge player and Wii bowler. We will all miss her so much.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother-in-law James Samec, and her in-laws, George and Betty Lantz.

Surviving are her loving daughters, Kammy (John) Krimmel IV; Heather (Aaron) Mariucci; Kelli (Dr. Mark) Dyball; Four grandchildren Alexis Mariucci, Ashley (Joey) Wright; Kassidy Krimmel, and Bryce Krimmel; one sister Jayne Samec; two nieces Jamie (Lee) Fleming and Brooke (Brian) Devereaux and two great nieces and one great nephew.
