Norma was born in Capac, MI on January 25, 1937, the third daughter of the late Norman and Adelaide (Schoen) Brennan. She was a graduate of Capac High School Class of 1955. On April 30, 1955, Norma married her high school sweetheart, Henry August Bargiel. After the birth of their three children Deborah, Doug and Norma, the family moved to the Flint area and later settled in Davison, MI. While her children were in high school, Norma earned a BA in education from the University of Michigan-Flint and subsequently worked as substitute teacher. Her life was devoted to her family for whom she cooked, sewed and knitted for the next three generations. Norma was an ambitious seamstress and will be particularly remembered for making "GG's gramma jammas" for the kids. She enjoyed spending time with kids, attending all their activities from sporting events to dance recitals, always relishing in their accomplishments. Norma attended and later joined St John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Davison where she was a faithful member. She was extremely devoted to her family and friends. Norma always provided a nice home to visit, great food, a listening ear and good advice. She will always be remembered for her loving kindness, her generosity and her fun-loving spirit. Norma will continue watching over us from Heaven, looking forward to meeting us again someday.
