SMITH, Tricia Ann (St. Onge) – of Davison, age 38, passed away, October 30, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her family. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 3:30 PM Friday, November 3, 2017 at Richfield Church of the Nazarene, 7524 E. Mt. Morris Rd., Otisville; Pastor Alan Duce officiating. Visitation will be 1 PM until the time of service on Friday at the church. A Celebration of Life will be held at First Union Church, 179 E. Hodeck St., Cedarville, MI on the afternoon of Saturday, November 11, 2017; Pastor Jeff Meyers officiating, coordinated by R. Galer Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a fund for her boys’ college education or a scholarship to be awarded to a Cedarville High School female athlete. All checks payable to Blake Smith.

Tricia was born in Petoskey, MI on October 2, 1979, daughter of David and Debra (Carr) St. Onge. She married Blake Smith on July 17, 2004. Tricia graduated from Cedarville High School in 1997 where she played volleyball, basketball and track and field. She graduated from Central Michigan University in 2001 with a degree in elementary education and did some of her student teaching in Perth, Australia. Tricia taught 3rd grade in Montrose Community Schools for 6 years. She worked as a 1st grade teacher at Central Elementary in Davison Community Schools. Tricia was an active member of Richfield Church of the Nazarene where she taught Sunday school class and volunteered in the nursery. She used social media to help spread her passion for Christ and share her journey through this battle with cancer. Tricia had a passion for fitness and nutrition. She took great pride in helping others reach their goals and enjoyed being a Beachbody coach. Tricia loved spending time at her family’s cottage on La Salle Island in Cedarville. She especially loved spending time with family traveling and sharing holidays together up north. Tricia loved her boys more than anything in the world and raised them with a solid Christian foundation, giving them a sense of peace and comfort knowing their mother is home in heaven and they will see her again someday.

Tricia is survived by her husband, Blake Allan Smith; two sons, Gavin Blake and Colson Robert; parents, David and Debra St. Onge; brother, Kevin David (Beth) St. Onge; nephews, Jarrett and Jacob; grandparents, Richard and Bertha Carr of Cedarville; aunts, Jeanne (St. Onge) Hilt, Pamela (St. Onge) Paquin; uncle, William (Kris) St. Onge; cousins, Barbie Hilt, Heather Rockel, Mark Paquin, Steven Paquin, Andrew Paquin, CJ Paquin, Julie Fee, Sara St. Onge; many great aunts, uncles and cousins; father-in-law, Robert Smith; brother-in-law, Brent (Lindsay) Smith; sisters-in-law, Ellie Smith, Katrina (Troy) Findley; nieces and nephews, Ayanna Hairald, Amiaya, Antroy and Aaliyah Findley, Madilynn Own, Ava Smith; grandparents, Robert and Ruth Smith. She was preceded in death by her miscarried baby, who was waiting for her in heaven; grandparents, Ray and Velma St. Onge, Patrick and Mildred Griffin, William and Ann St. Onge, Otis and Marian Carr (Harold Nelson), Bertha Burch; mother-in-law, Sherry Smith; grandparents-in-law, Lynn Johnson, Earl Johnson, Wayne Fick.
