Manuela “Mollie” Vizcarra, age 84 of Grand Blanc, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on October 14, 2025.
She was born the third child of Miguel and Maria Garza on February 2, 1941, in Progreso Coahuila, Mexico.
Mollie met her beloved husband Arturo Vizcarra in Bay City Michigan in 1959 and married shortly after. Five children followed, Lisa Vizcarra, Deena Harris of Bradenton FL, Rolando Vizcarra of Burton Mi, Paula Zalud of Gd Blanc, Mi, and Timothy Vizcarra of Gd Blanc, Mi. She was also loving sister to Noemi Ouellette and a cherished mother-in-law to her loving son-in-law Randy Zalud.
Mollie’s family was her great joy. She was a very attentive grandmother and deeply loved them all- Nicole Green, Selena Brown, Cristi Perez, Jayna Sharp, Ryan Vizcarra, Melissa Flores, Erica Harris, Tessa Vizcarra, Cassandra Vizcarra, Cameron Vizcarra, Valerie Vizcarra, and Markus Vizcarra- and her great grandchildren; Layla, Amari’a, Nalani, Oliver, Johan, Evan, Zola, and Xander. She loved all her many nieces, nephews, cousin and her grand spiritual family of the Grand Blanc Congregation.
In 1968 Mollie and Arturo were baptized on the same day as Jehovah’s Witnesses, beginning a lifelong journey of faith and devotion. Mollie remained faithful to her God Jehovah and his promises till the very end of her life. She appreciated the beauty of God’s creation, all the flowers and plants, the squirrels, bunnies and deer that visited her yard and especially she loved her birds! She had a green thumb, planting a garden each year until she couldn’t. She loved traveling with Arturo, visiting family and friends all over the country. She also was an excellent cook, making her authentic Mexican dishes for family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings Miguel Garza, Margaret Gutierrez, Martha Ward, Ruth Huerta, and Genaro Rodriguez; her precious daughter Lisa Vizcarra, and great-grandson Baby Xander.
A memorial service to honor Mollie will be held on Saturday October 25, 2025 @2 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 4255 McCandlish Rd, Grand Blanc, Mi 48439.
Mollie will be remembered for her kindness; she was also feisty and fun. She had a gentle side as well as a heart full of adventure. She touched all of our lives, and we will deeply miss her until we meet again in paradise.
