Richard Lyle Jackson age 80 of Bancroft passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, October 4, 2026. Richard was a hard-working man who spent his life behind the wheel and took great pride and carrying on a family tradition that began more than a century ago, he worked as a truck driver hauling milk and continuing the milk route that his father established in 1919.

Richard spent countless hours traveling from farm to farm and one of his favorite parts of the job was visiting the farmers along the route. The family tradition did not end with him however, as his son Ron followed in his footsteps and continued the families work. Their accomplishments were a tremendous source of pride for him.

November 11, 1988 Richard married Susan Jane Bauder at the First Congregational Church in Durand. Richard and Sue shared 30 years of marriage together before her passing. Richard was a man who appreciated life's simple pleasures. He loved nature and being outdoors and he especially enjoyed fishing in his youth. He was an avid collector of pocketknives, had an interest in guns and enjoyed his flower garden. Driving was never simply a job for Richard, It was something he truly enjoyed.

He had a lifelong appreciation for cars, especially muscle cars. In his younger years Richard enjoyed drag racing on Middleton Road and Chipman Road creating stories and memories that remained a part of him throughout his life.
