Finsterwald, Janet Kay – Age 81, of Grand Blanc, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 in hospice care at Brookdale Senior Living of Grand Blanc. Janet Kay Finsterwald was born on January 1, 1942, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene and Arlene (Shoults) Hilborn. Janet graduated from Central Michigan and taught at Carpenter Road School in Flint. Despite deciding to stay home to raise her son, she continued to use her teaching abilities with Mark and then her grandsons. She enjoyed playing cards with her long time friends. Reading, antiquing, and spending time with her family were also some of her favorite pastimes.
Surviving Janet is the love of her life, beloved husband; Herman “Tex” Finsterwald of 59 years of marriage, her son; Mark (Christy) Finsterwald, her grandsons Alex and Evan Finsterwald, and her brother Gary Hilborn.
Janet is preceded in death by her parents Eugene and Arlene.
