Gale Rd., Davison; Rev. Allen Sudmann officiating. Visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of service. Robert was born in Royal Oak, MI on August 2, 1933, son of the late Harold K. and Zeta A. (Bunting) Bair. He married Joan Allison on April 4, 2009 at Davison Missionary Church. He served 2 years in Germany with the Army Airborne Division during the Korean War. Robert began his working career as a Journeyman Carpenter and later discovered an aptitude for kitchen layout and design. His large scale personality and sense of humor made him a success in the business world. Robert took his hands on carpentry experience and business acumen from his years of sales experience and management at Builder’s Wholesale to create R. Bair Enterprizes in 1973. He retired from his endeavor in the early 90’s. Robert was a longtime member and past president of the Davison Country Club. He loved the outdoors. Robert was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing and hunting. His sometimes irracible sense of humor could get him in trouble—but he was adept at charming his way out of any situation. Robert could tell a good story and had lots of ‘em. Robert and Joan attended Davison Missionary Church, he loved singing with the men’s chorus, the Messengers.

Robert is survived by his wife, Joan; son, Timothy S. Bair and partner, Jeff Green of Ann Arbor; daughter, Joni (Dave) VanSumeren; grandchildren, Benjamin and Joseph VanSumeren all of Whitehall, MI. Robert felt that with his marriage to Joan he also gained a second loving family that included: Elaine (Chuck) Tusciuk, Ron (Anna) Allison, Renee (Dave) Moreau, Brian (Tina) Allison and 10 loving grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife of 52 years, Dorothy (Dice) Bair; brothers, Jack and Tom Bair.
