HOWELL, Nancy Lee of Clio, age 82, passed away Monday, May 25, 2026, surrounded by her family at McLaren Flint. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 2500 N. Franklin Ave., Flint, Michigan 48506; Father Santhiyagu Arockiyasamy celebrating. Visitation will take place on Monday, June 1, 2026, from 3-7 PM at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, Michigan 48423 with a Rosary Service at 6 PM. The family will receive visitors again on Tuesday, at church, one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Food Pantry or Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, in Nancy’s memory.
Nancy was born in Saginaw, Michigan on July 7, 1943, daughter of the late Albert William Whitehouse and Lucille Margaret Donahue. She married Edward Howell on February 10, 1968, and shared 58 wonderful years with him. Together they created a beautiful family and touched the lives of many along the way. Nancy was passionate about her family and made sure everyone around her felt like family as well. She worked many years in the credit union, through mergers and locations and retired from Michigan Federal in 2004, and after that her and Edward ran the East Side Food Pantry at their church for 16+ years and she loved giving back to her community. Nancy was also about traditions, including baking cookies with her family for the holidays and decorating her home from top to bottom. Everywhere she went she could put a smile on your face and brighten your day. She will be so missed and loved always.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Edward; children: Lisa Howell, Beth Freeman-Dunfield and husband David, Dawn Brown and husband Jeff; grandchildren: Tyler Dunfield, Danyelle Barton and husband Jason, Nancy Brown; great grandchildren: Jazmyn, Emerson, Primrose and Lulu; siblings: Sally Swartz, Sue Taylor and many other loving family members and friends, including her bonus daughter, Tooter Montini. She was preceded in death by her parents and her eldest sister, Lou McKay.
