YANCEY, William "Joel" – Of Flint, age 78, died Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Wellbridge of Fenton.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial service will be held at a later date.
William was born in Sedalia, Missouri on January 27, 1941, the son of the late Joel and Lillian (Huntress) Yancey.
Bill and Teresa met doing a mutual hobby, square dancing, where they became dance partners. Together they attended many national conventions. They were married in 2014.
He served in the U.S. Navy and also in the U.S. Air Force.
Bill enjoyed riding bicycles and did many marathons across Michigan with Paulette.
He was affiliated with Davison Congregation of Jehovah’s Witness.
Bill and Teresa were baptized together on July 16, 2016.
Mr. Yancey worked at GM in Lansing for many years; after retirement working at Meijer in Owosso, where he assembled bikes.
Surviving are wife, Teresa;
sons, Bill (Lori) Yancey,
Scott (Misty) Yancey,
Mike Yancey and
Don (Tammy) Yancey;
step-daughter, Laura Gardner;
many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian and his ex-wife, Paulette.
